A similar project to this one is started under the name officesvn, but since it seems dead and I really want to build some tools I proposed this project.
Mission
Integrating subversion in Office Software
- Write a set of macros to communicate with subversion and/or tortoisesvn from within Microsoft Excel and Word
- Export and import VBA code and (if possible) other objects to enable full source code control.
- Develop toolbars to control the macros and show document status information
- Support other Microsoft Office Software
- Support non Microsoft Office Software like Open Office
The inital software will be written in Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications
